The final project from my collaboration with Brittany at The House That Lars Built is this fun monogram!

After discussing doing the BOO on a pumpkin, we thought it might be cool to cover an entire pumpkin with succulents and just leave the outline of a letter. It was probably one of the more time consuming projects, but I’m really happy with how it turned out!

Make this fun succulent covered pumpkin to decorate your front porch!

Here’s what you’ll need to make a pumpkin like this:

Use a tall pumpkin, cold-hardy succulents and a hot glue gun for this succulent DIY!

Start by drawing a block letter on the pumpkin with the marker.

Trace the outline of the letter on the pumpkin using a hot glue gun

Cover the marker line with small succulents. Use the hot glue or floral glue to adhere the succulents to the pumpkin.

I used cold-hardy Sedums to create the outline.

Add larger cold hardy succulents around the outlined letter on your pumpkin

Once you have the outline covered with succulents, cover the rest of the pumpkin.

For this pumpkin I decided to use some cold hardy Sedums and Sempervivums so they would survive outside if it happened to freeze several nights in a row.

And that’s it! I alternated Sempervivums with the smaller Sedums. I really love how it turned out!

It’s been a lot of fun to do all of these projects with succulents and pumpkins! I have to say it has definitely made me even more excited about my favorite season of the year.
