Question:

Hi there,

I have a large Crassula ovata cutting. Can I propagate from the entire wooded stalk or do I have to do it with each offshoot? What do you think? Thanks! Love your site.

Answer:

Propagating Crassula ovata is really easy! And you can definitely propagate from the entire stalk; you don’t have to trim it down.

Wait for your cutting to callous over the bottom. Once it has done that, place it in well-draining soil.

Water it the same way you would a full-sized plant, and roots should begin to grow within a few weeks!
